Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th, 1964) was an American lawyer, politician, and the current vice president of United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female vice-president and the highest-ranking female official in U.S history. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017 and was a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003 she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. She was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Between 2017 and 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her pointed questions of Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
