Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in every seasons of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she has made 53 deals on the show, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment to purchase 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied on food delivered by the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran says that her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
